HISTORY OF RACERS PAINT AND PANEL
Racers Paint and Panel officially opened its doors in 2020, however, for the founder and owner Lewis Mhembere, Embarking on the path towards realizing this vision began 23 years ago in Harare. His journey is inspiring, full of unique moments and life-changing encounters.
2003
The Start of the dream
Lewis Mhembere embarked on the opportunity of a lifetime at Val's Panel Beaters, one of the biggest and best quality paint and panel shops in Harare, Zimbabwe.
2009
Genesis of Racers
Having relocated to South Africa in 2008, Lewis envisaged Racers Paint and Panel and meticulously detailed every aspect of the business and its operations. The vision was born but there was still a long journey ahead to realise it.
2011
New Horizons
Lewis had the fortune to meet the owners of Auto Bonn Sandton at City Life Church in Lonehill and a year later was offered an opportunity to further expand his knowledge and expertise at Auto Bonn Sandton.
2020
Collaboration and Formation
2020, Partnered on VMS Paint and through this opportunity the fortitude, resilience and skill to navigate tough seasons in business was obtained.
2021
Racers Paint and Panel Opens its doors
With friends Scott and Sheila Kholosa, Racers Paint and Panel officially launched in January 2021 with over 20 years behind me in the panel beating industry. Scott played a pivotal role, and together, we navigated challenges, embracing the reality that survival in this cutthroat industry requires resilience and hard work. Racers is now a thriving business with plans to continue its growth and momentum.
